Design Evaluation:
All in all I think our design outcome was very good even though there was a few hiccups along the way with coding and getting everything to work how we wanted it to. The designs I made for the game I am very pleased with how they turned out especially the the characters within the game which where all based around real life fish, crustaceans etc. As I drew over images of the real life characters and made them into more of a cartoony version. The only thing I think I could of done better was the scenery e.g. coral and water, I think I could of made the coral little more detailed which I did with some of it, but I wanted to change it up a bit with some other designs of coral because the same coral scenery all the way through would be as appealing to the eye as various different types so I drew a few from scratch to save time as the deadline was approaching but it didn't come out as well as planned as the ones I drew over and resized turned out a lot better than the ones made from scratch. Another flaw in my design which I didn't notice until I was done was on the title screens I had light blue gradient going down to a dark blue, which makes sense because the light is at the top of the water, but in the actual games scrolling background the colours were opposite they were dark blue to light. Apart from those two minor faults I think the design was well planned out and the final product was very good, especially the animation of the characters that I made for Dan to animate, they really go well with the game and look very natural in the animation. Although there was hiccups along the way with the coding Jordan was trying to implement on the design, but in the end everything pretty much turned out as planned from the design to coding and I'm very pleased with how the game went.

Final Design Process

To create this I used the pen tool to draw around an image of a shark and used a gradient colour to emphasise the colour difference between the bottom and top of the shark.

To create the fact I simply use used the pen tool, to make the fact box and filled the colour in white with a black stroke and then I simply added text to it.

To create this I used the same back drop as I did for the title screen and added text with a light blue colour overlay and light blue outer glow with a black stroke.

In this I used the same technique as above, but just changed the text.

To create the fish I used the same technique as I did with the shark by pen tooling selections and filling them in with block colour.

Ideas Generation
Ideas:
Idea One - Clown fish motion simulator, where you travel through the sea avoiding enemies and collecting facts along the way to be able to answer the quiz at the end.
Idea Two - Snake based game where you are a eel and you eat little fish which eventually makes the eel bigger and bigger. But if you're hit by a jellyfish or a bigger fish you become smaller and once you reach a certain seize you'll finish the level you'll either get a fact or a question.
Idea Three - Doodle jump type game where you're a seahorse and you bounce up through the ocean collecting facts and avoiding enemies. You'll also get power ups which will help through the ocean jumping.
Idea Of Choice: Aquaquest (Idea One)
Gameplay - You'll play as a Clownfish and you'll travel through the sea eating eating Marine Worms and Shrimp which will gain you points and facts about marine life. You'll also have to avoid things like Jellyfish which will reduce your health by 25% and Sharks which will reduce your health by 50% if touched by either of them. If you complete the game without dying you'll be given a quiz about all the facts you've picked up along the way.
Setting - It'll be set underwater and will include underwater features like algae and the rocky bottom of the sea.
Character Design - The characters will all be based upon the real life version as we'll draw over a picture of each of the fish creating a cartoon version of the real thing.

Research
Types Of Interactivity.
Webpage Interactivity:
http://www.nike.com - Is a good example of a website that uses interactivity well, as when you enter the website allows you to interact with it and choose your language and destination to direct you to the right 'nike' website. Once you are on the website it allows you to find products through the side menu and the drop down options with the side menu, which will either take you to another Nike URL to find what you are looking for or if the product you're looking for is on the main Nike website it will just take you to another page, depending on what you have chosen as your product the website will allow you to interact with it to change clothing and shoe sizes and colours depending on what is available using a drop down menu. Also the interactivity within this website makes it more user friendly for customers to find exactly what they want e.g. users zoom in on pictures of the product they want to get a closer look at what they're buying. Some products on the website are editable where you can interact with the website to create your own designs of a product.

Interactive Games:
8 Ball Pool - http://www.miniclip.com/games/8-ball-pool-multiplayer/en/
This game allows you to play pool but through the computer screen against other people across the world.
